Presentation of the Center for Development of Students' Creativity in Power Engineering

The educational system must give all the students not only a very good theoretical preparation, but it must also implement them an active professional and social behavior. The fast mouvement, the flexibility and the creativity from the educational practice must provide them the market economy skills and those of continuous conversion/reconversion for the maintenance of a social context which encourages the exchange of ideas, positive social and partnership interactions. The professor and the student become two equal dialog partners, who improve each other's knowledge and experience.

The school relations and the whole teaching activity have changed, the new generation doesn't want to play the humble student part. The new students are extremely curious and embrace some of the most various exploration strategies, sometimes even original, unusual ones. They want to have the right to say "NO" to some old teaching methods or to some class structures which are not appropriate for their immediate or perspective needs or for their vocational ones. The scholastic success is a right and today's students want a warrant for their results. Therefore, the open, flexible and creative education is the plurivalent answer that can also be met nowadays in the polytechnic school.

Founded on December 10th, 2002, the Center for Development of Students' Creativity in Power Engineering refers especially to the students. But we must add that it doesn't refer only to them, the Center being in a perfect concordance with the "Long life learning" educational concept, which is a modern education concept. The center refers to all the graduates from the domain, specialists, engineers, experts, technicians, professors, but also to the open public who desires to have access to a modality of education or improvement in the power engineering domain. In addition to this, the Center's motto is: "Learn to know, learn to make, learn to live together with the others, learn to be", which represents the four basic learning types, as they are mentioned in the document "Learning: The Treasure Within", published in 1996 and also known as "The Delors Report".
